- Pedikidz Of Palm Beach, Inc.
Pedikidz of Palm Beach is a licensed Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center at 2311 10th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach. We care for medically complex children from birth through age 20. Nurses are on the floor all day, therapists see children on site, and we drive kids to and from home. For many families, that means a parent can go back to work, and a child who used to spend the day at home with a nurse now spends it learning and playing with other kids.

What is a PPEC?
A PPEC is a state-licensed medical day center for children who need nursing care during the day. Think of it as the space between a hospital and a regular daycare. A doctor prescribes the hours, and the center provides the nursing, therapy and daily care in one place. In Florida, PPEC services are covered by Medicaid for children who qualify.
Regular daycares usually can’t take a child with a trach, a feeding tube, a seizure disorder or oxygen needs. A PPEC is built for exactly those children.
A day at Pedikidz of Palm Beach
Most children arrive on our van in the morning. A nurse checks vitals, reviews any notes from home and starts the day’s medications and feedings on schedule. From there, the day mixes therapy sessions, learning time, music, art and play. Children are grouped by age and ability, and babies and toddlers under four have their own separate nursery with cribs, swings and sensory toys.
We follow hospital-grade infection control every day. For a child with a weak immune system, fewer germs means fewer sick days and fewer trips back to the hospital. At pickup, parents get an update on how the day went.
Care and therapy under one roof
Instead of driving between appointments, families get these services in the same building, during the same day:
- Skilled nursing care by RNs and LPNs, including medication management, G-tube and trach care, seizure monitoring and respiratory support
- Physical therapy for strength, balance and mobility
- Occupational therapy for fine motor skills, sensory needs and daily living skills
- Speech and feeding therapy for communication, swallowing and oral feeding
- Respiratory therapy
- Behavioral therapy
- Music, art and social activities that make the day feel like childhood, not just treatment
- School programs for school-age children
Therapies follow the plan prescribed by each child’s doctor and therapists.
